Negative emotions, the things people usually push away or don't want to feel, will be clearer and more potent than positive ones just due to their nature.

Is there anything weird she might pick up on? re: character's an empath too, etc: Given that Muffet is an Undertale monster, the emotions of love, hope, and compassion are not just things she feels (though she does, at various times, like anyone else would) but also part of her very being, the things that allow her to even live at all.
For her, they're something that happens on a deeper, instinctual level even aside from feeling them normally- she's experiencing at least some degree of them at all times, the same way a living human is always breathing or having their heart pump blood.
So that might be something Ren would pick up on, somehow?
It can register to her or not as you see fit, honestly.

Can she feel their emotions?: Yes, especially since he trusts and cares for the little goblin. Negative or painful emotions will be harder to pick up on, though, unless he is overwhelmed or exhausted as he has a horrible habit of hiding those.

Actually, not particularly right now, aside from how much he's hiding those negative/painful emotions on occasion. The Flower Disease Event did wonders for getting most of his secrets out in the open for some reason. LOL! He does have struggles with PTSD at times, especially if he's somewhere he's having to listen to the sound of falling water, so there is that!

Is there anything weird she might pick up on? re: character's an empath too, etc: RIDICULOUSLY SUNSHINEY RAY OF LIGHT but also horrible crippling guilt and anxiety, it's a weird mix. Penny also tends to feel things pretty intensely without a lot of middle ground or gray areas, so have fun with that?

Is there anything weird she might pick up on? re: character's an empath too, etc: I dont know if this would read as different from just, regular anger/aggression, but every so often Ginko's troll instincts kick up (basically whenever he's getting snarly/angry as opposed than just annoyed, it'll probably be indicated in text), and that's uh. Something that he feels pretty intensely internally but does his best to suppress the shit out of, so THAT'S exciting!

Is there anything weird she might pick up on? re: character's an empath too, etc: Zidane's not a miserable person. In fact, he's pretty optimistic, laidback and cheerful. However, he does tend to hid his worries and anxieties and Ren will pick up on that.
