[Someone heard you were in the market for fresh prank ideas.
Unfortunately, while that someone is also generally pretty good at sneaking, at least good enough to figure out where Ren sleeps without her noticing, she also happens to have severely underestimated how much effort it would take to sneak up on Camp BASE. Jester has stumbled through a string trap, and she panics immediately and starts grabbing pieces of the windchime doorbell that started going off to quiet them, dropping several small objects she had been carrying in her hands.
Well. Maybe everyone here is a really heavy sleeper???]
[For whatever reason, the elves aren't around and maybe Kravitz is helping them with said whatever reason. Because it's just her and the warning bells send her into a momentary panic. Like, it's not them coming back and it's usually for a not good reason those shake in the middle of the night. But it's possible?? It might be them??
And while her first thought is to confirm their whereabouts via iStone, that would give away her current position under a pile of blankets, covered from head to toe in the fabric. Which wouldn't be good if this isn't a friend or family. So she remains immobile, peering past the dimming fire and her suddenly alert cats to the dark forest in front of her.
[Okay... There's no immediate stirring going on. Jester's probably in the clear, then! Okay, she just needs to sneak over there...
She didn't prepare her Pass Without A Trace spell today, which was an egregious oversight, and she can't call upon her deity to bless her for cases like these anymore... So she'll just have to rely on her own wits and natural ability. This should be fine.
She peeks through the entrance, peeling back one of the heavy cloths used to cover the front of the large tent.
Hmm... Although she has the ability to see in the dark, she doesn't immediately see anyone? Not even Ren, who is who she came for. She starts to step inside and look around to make sure.]
[The figure is hard to make out in the dimmed light, but it's smaller than anyone she expects to come through here. That's why her face immediately plants into the ground, like some kind of fabric ostrich, and she waits one, two, three seconds until-
It's still pretty quiet. Nothing's happening. And she raises her head to see-]
Jester?
[The relief in her voice is just so noticeable. Ya hooligan tiefling, you scared the heck outta her.]
[OH NO... Caught in the act! At least Ren doesn't seem keyed into the fact that Jester is here for Nefarious Reasons. Jester freezes.
She's been identified, so she can't disguise herself after the fact... Quick, quick, think of something. It doesn't help her prank idea was sort of predicated on Ren being asleep.]
Noooo... I, uh, was actually here to fix something! I heard you had a tiiiny leak somewhere in your wall, so I was going to repair it! Your roommate asked me because I had so much practice fixing things on a boat!
[Something isn't adding up here, but she doesn't care enough about math to try and discern the truth. There's a whole bunch of roommates though and she doesn't know which one of them wouldn't think to make Uncle Taako transmute some new fabric or something.
Still, she looks up at their tent, then leans forward to check the makeshift fridge and weird little sheds scattered around the camp. Maybe Lobstar's home needs fixed? She's not sure.]
I don't know where it's leaking. I have to wait for it to rain again.
[Then-]
How do you fix stuff like that? Can you use magic too?
[Jester says go back to bed and all Ren hears I have dank magic spells and I'm gonna do them after you shut your eyes, which means she will not be taking her nighty night peanut time in the near future. She looks excited-
And completely ignores Jester's last sentence.]
I want to see! Here, I'll break more things and you can 'mend' them.
4/7, late night

Oh yes, yes, I can! I have this spell called Mending, and it can fix things like leaks and stuff super good. The Traveler taught me all about it.
You can just go back to bed and I'll find it, okay?
[She'll just have to come up with a prank on the fly OTHER THAN DRAWING ON REN'S FACE. Curses.]
